The members of United VARs take action for a livable world. (2019)

With the WASH project, which we support in collaboration with United VARs, Cambodian children can have clean water and hygienic conditions.

Clean water running from the tap, washing your hands any time, a well-functioning toilet... We have all these, but do they? These are all very essential factors of a healthy life that we do not realize how grateful we should be for... We do have them, but more than 2 billion people in the world do not have the hygienic conditions coming with clean water. And every year, over 800,000 children under the age of five die due to a lack of access to clean water sources.

Clean water and hygiene were recognized as a "human right" by the United Nations General Assembly in 2010. It is also one of the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit held on September 25-27, 2015. To this end, studies are being carried out to ensure that everyone has access to safe drinking water, sanitary toilets, and hygienic conditions in hospitals and houses on a global scale by 2030.

These principles, which are accepted by the member states of the United Nations, are also supported by civil initiatives. The WASH project carried out by United VARs is one of them. Cambodia is one of the countries with the highest need for clean water in the world. (from water.org) Almost all Cambodian children who fill their plastic bottles from polluted rivers suffer from diarrhea, and many of them die before the age of 12.

The project, which was brought to the agenda at the annual meeting in April 2019 with the initiative of Managing Director Detlef Mehlmann, who visited the country two years ago, received massive support from United VARs members. The goal of the donation campaign set up for this purpose is to generalize Cambodia's clean water systems. In the project supported by SAP, United VARs members contribute a certain amount of their annual income to the project. For every social media post about the project, United VARs donates 1 Euro. As Detaysoft, we support this campaign as well.

We have everything, but do they? We donate to help turn things around..
